Emery is ONE!!
Emery turned ONE on January 1st, which means she is currently 13 months old! I've not documented her life quite as closely as I did with Annie (sorry baby girl!!!) - but those of you with more than one child totally get it, right?! I do not quite have the same amount of "down" time as I did when there was just one of them. I do what I can and I'm ok with that :)
Emery is learning like WILDFIRE! I kid you not. Yesterday Annie was playing with a toy that sang the ABCs and Emery tried her best to sing along: "Aahh beee eee eee eeee geeee." She is trying to count to four also, " onne ooooo reeeee oooouuurrr!" Ok Ok, she's probably just mimicking her sister, but she's still trying! She can say lots of words (lets see if i can remember everything): Hi, Hey, Bye, Ok, No No, Uh-Uh, Annie, Mama, Daddy, Nana, Puppy.... (brain is drawing a blank...)
She also says a few phrases:
What's that
Who's that
No Thanks
Good job
Good girl
She took her first steps a few weeks ago and is getting more and more brave with walking! She was taking just a few steps towards us and would dive bomb as soon as she got close, in hopes that we would catch her (which, we absolutely did). Now she's standing up on her own and taking steps towards something she wants, without us prompting her. She has a little push toy that she pushes all over the house and can maneuver to go any direction she wants it to. We figure she'll be going full force in 2 or so weeks!
She crawls SO fast and has learned to go up and DOWN the stairs! Earlier today I was sitting in the chair and I didnt realize our gate was open. All of a sudden i hear it slam and look over and she had climbed halfway down the stairs (and slammed the gate on the way out). I almost had a heart attack!
We are enjoying that sweet little darling more and more each day, despite the fact she has been a tiny bit of a mess due to teething! She has had 2 bottom teeth for 6 months and is finally starting to get some more! 4 are coming in on top (the top two have broken through the gums). And today I noticed another pearly white on the bottom. Incase you lost count, that's FIVE teeth. She clings to me a lot (though she's always done that), has a little trouble napping, but crashes hard at night.
Em is starting to play more independently. I can actually sit her down in the living room, go into the kitchen and make her breakfast without her pulling at my pants in the mornings. She likes giving kisses and shouts, "mmwwaaah!! mmwwaaah!!" when she wants to give one. She's even starting to close her lips when she gives them. Annie used to hate kissing her because she thought Emery was trying to eat her.
