Through it All...

As I sat in worship today, the Lord just spoke to me.  To be honest, it has been a while since I've really felt the Holy Spirit speak into my soul and there are moments when I feel like he just doesnt SEE me.  It's not that He hasnt spoken or that he's closed His eyes, I just haven't been listening or paying attention very well.  Today was different.  Today, God saw me... and you know what, He sees you too.

There are a lot of you in my life right now who are hurting.  You've lost people you love, your hearts have been broken, you've been given unbearable news.  You are going through the motions, fighting to survive and you have no idea how you're going to make it through today, let alone tomorrow.  But you know what?  You aren't alone.  You are DEARLY loved, chosen by God our father.  In John 14 Jesus comes to his disciples to bring them comfort.  He tells them "do not let your hearts be troubled.  You believe in God, so believe also in me...." and then later, "...I will not leave you as orphans, I will come to you."  My friends, believe in Jesus.  Believe that he is for us, and not against us and that He is with you.  You do not have to walk this weary road alone.  God can use your brokenness to make something beautiful.  He can work ALL things, even the bad things, for good.  That may be hard to see right now, but its true - He says it himself, so we can trust it as truth.  Allow Him to use this event in your life to change you.  To grow you.  To mature you.  And to open your eyes to his mercy.  Let his love win...

I heard this song for the first time last week and thought it was beautiful.  Today, as our worship team sang it, tears just streamed down my face as I thought of each and every one of you who are facing the impossible.  I've never known so many people going through so much at one time and I cannot even process having to walk the roads you are on .  Tears flowed as I ached for you, but also, because of the Hope that is in Jesus..I don't know if you're the type who is moved by music, but I pray you'll be moved by this....

Greater earth has quaked before....

So let Go, my soul, and trust in Him. 

The waves and wind still know His name.

Fix your eyes on Jesus, my friends.  He sees you.  In the midst of this mess you're in, God is still here and He sees you.  He sees every tear you shed, every fear you face. Let go, oh soul, and trust in Him.  And take heart, He has overcome the world, He has overcome death, and He can help you overcome this too.  There is hope.
