Our Sweet Annie

Our little Annie is growing so much and is an absolute BLAST.  I cannot even convey to you how much I enjoy that little girl.  No one has ever made me smile or laugh as much as she does.

She is so silly and just loves life. She's super happy all the time, despite the transition our family has gone through with having a new baby.  Steven is up with her in the mornings, so when I come upstairs she squeals with excitement, 'MAMA! MAMA! MAMA'S AWAKE!!" as she jumps up and down and waits for me to pick her up.  She gives me the biggest hug and presses her little nose against mine.   She's quite the little love bug.

My arms have been so tied up with Emery that I do my best to hold and love on and play with her when I can.  Some days it's enough, while others it isn't and she just wants more of me.  These are the days she acts out. I'm thankful for I am able to discern the difference between misbehavior and what is "I just want my mama."

The poor kid has probably watched more TV than any one person should be allowed over the last two months. I'm SO tired and its FREEZING outside.  She can sing the theme songs to Jake and the Neverland Pirates and Paw Patrol.  In fact, she can say all of the catch phrases for all the pups and i think she has a crush on Ryder.  She also likes watching Handy Manny sometimes.  (She doesnt care too much for the "girly" shows, with the exception of Tinker Bell).

She is talking and putting sentences together and learning (even though she watches an unreasonable amount of TV) so much.  I've learned to give myself some slack though because at this point, we're all just surviving.  It'll get better.  We're just thankful that over all she is super content and just an overall happy kid!  She's happy just to be awake.

She can open door knobs and walk down the stairs to our room all by herself (more stories on this later).  She loves singing ABCs and Happy Birthday.  In fact, she keeps asking me for a paw patrol birthday cake.  She can count to 11 and knows what the colors of a stop-light mean (red - stop, green - go, yellow - caution). I think Paw Patrol taught her that.... (Im telling you, its redic.)  As we drive down the road she shouts it out.  Her favorite thing to say is, "GREEN MEANS GO!!" and she yells it with such enthusiasm!!

Her favorite color is blue ....and green is a close second.  She has two pair of blue socks (one pair just has blue toes) and if they are clean, they are on her feet. Her favorite pajamas are her Jake jammies and she would wear them everyday if I would allow it.  I dont even get her dressed before nap because she always insist that she put her Jake jammies back on so she can sleep.

She loves cereal:  blue cereal (rice krispies) & brown cereal (chocolate rice krispies) are her favorites.  She could eat her weight in cheese if you'd let her.  Peas are her favorite veggie and applesauce makes her cheer.  She is also a fan or red snacks (red nutrigrain bars) and bananas.  She enjoys eating "green" = avacados and chicken as well. She labels her food by colors...incase you didnt pick up on that....

Speaking of cheers, she likes to "cheers" her cups when she plays tea parties.  Her weeble wobbles are her favorite toys right now.  She'll say "cmon mama!! lets play weeble wobble wobble wobble wobbles!!"  She likes building blocks with her daddy and loves stickers.  She has a ridiculous amount of stuffed babies that she sleeps with including 4 elephants.  Elephants are her favorite.  She also likes to sleep with her Paw Patrol blanket, her Quack Quacks (Nanny bought her another one for laundry day, but now she needs them both), and a tiny little picnic basket from her kitchen set.  She is also starting to "role play."  She was playing with a Sun sticker today and was showing it around the house and she said something to the effect "Here's the kitchen Sun" and then she said, "Oh very good!" - pretending to be the voice of the sun!  SO. CUTE.

She's obsessed with the dark.  I can often find her and Steven just sitting in the dark in her room playing and having a conversation.  Flash lights come out and it's on.  She loves being outside in the dark too.  She gets too excited about the moon and she noticed stars for the first time a couple of weeks ago.  She immediately started YELLING, "Stars!!! I love stars!!!! OOOOOh stars!!!"  We have the Vick's Starry Night humidifier that we had in Emery's room and we had to put it in hers b/c it projects stars and a moon onto the ceiling.

When she gets excited about something she says, "I love _____!!!!!!!!!"  Example:  "I LOVE MAMA!"  Or, "I LOVE CHEESE!!"  It's the cutest thing to hear how excited she gets over the tiniest things.

I find myself in the midst of total exhaustion, trying to treasure these things up... these are the good ole' days!  One of the hardest things about being a mama of two is that I miss being able to just spend time with my Annie, as bad as that may sound.  I'm so busy with Emery that I miss hanging out with my firstborn.  She's an amazing kid and is growing so fast (Im tearing up just typing this). I LOVE this age and I love that girl so so so much.  Just hearing her little voice makes my heart leap.  Seriously... she's the best. (Dont tell her sister ;)
