Emery through 23 weeks!

The last time I blogged about my pregnancy, we were heavily anticipating finding out the gender of our little darling.  Well... as a lot of you know, IT'S A GIRL!!  Another little daughter!  Steven and i both thought this little honey was a boy, BUT we are just as thrilled to have another girl.  We love the one we have & it's going to be so fun for her to have a little sister!  For those of us who have little brothers, we know how annoying (and gross) boys can be.... (I love you Nick! haha) - so we are thrilled that she's getting a sister.  After all, girls need sisters.

I was pretty stressed out about figuring out a name for this girl.  Before we even had Annie's ultrasound we knew what her name would be.  I'm a planner...so not having a name is just not ok in my book!  I worked hard for two days straight after we found out to name this baby daughter.  There are only a handful (by handful I mean 3) names that we liked.... so after a little back and forth we decided on:

Emery Nicole

Annie and Emery.  Sounds like best friends to me!

I started feeling Emery at 17 weeks and Steven wasnt able to feel her until 20 weeks.  She kicks a lot (loves playing on top of my bladder) and moves the most when I get ready to go to sleep and when I wake.  I have been feeling her throughout the day recently.

I am 23 weeks today and am getting winded fairly easily.  It probably doesnt help that my almost 2 year old is gaining more and more energy by the day, which requires more time outside and more playing to wear her out!  Which in turn, wears this mama out.  Thankfully Annie is a dream so she makes life easy!!  I plan to blog soon about her and what she's up to... so for now we'll stick to Emery.  My mom came and stayed almost 2 weeks and during that time we were able to make some progress in Emery's room and were even able to paint my room!  There are still projects here and there that I am hoping to finish up soon (painting a china hutch, getting our family yearbooks together, catching up Annie's scrapbook, etc..) before i get so big I cant do anything.

Speaking of.  I went to the doctor this morning and I've gained 12.5lbs!  I am however, measuring a week bigger than what I am.  The doctor asked me how big Annie was when she was born - and after telling him she was 6lbs 10oz at 35 weeks, his eyes lit up and he told me to watch my carbs unless I want a giant baby.  I go for the glucose test in 4 weeks and if I test diabetic then we'll do another ultrasound.  OR if I continue to measure big we'll do another ultrasound just to see what's going on in there.  BUT at any rate, I def have to watch my carbs to keep this girl from being a 9-10 pounder.  Now the question is: what the heck am I going to eat... haha!

Baby Emery

22 weeks with Annie vs. 23 weeks with Emery!
It's fun to see how my belly compares!
