Our 8th Anniversary!

Steven took our entire anniversary week off from work.  When he originally put in for it several months ago, his intent was to take me on a week long vacation to somewhere tropical.  While I admired his romantic plan, I just couldn't see us leaving our sweet 14 month old baby daughter for an entire week.

Our Mazda needed some maintenance, so we decided to spend the week at his parent's house.  This way he  would have help doing vehicle maintenance, and Annie would have access to her grandparents :)  And hey, we thought we may even get a date night out of it :)  We went to their house on Sunday the 15th and stayed through the 23rd.

His grandpa has a condo in Branson, which is only about an hour from where his parents live.  He arranged for us to spend two nights at his condo for our anniversary and after some discussion, we decided to do it and let Annie have a sleepover with Granny and Grandpa.  We left for Branson Thursday evening after Janice got home from work.  Annie had us for the entire day and was only without us for an hour or two before she went to bed.  This was her first time ever without mom and dad.  (I went to Oklahoma City for a few days back in November, but she stayed home with her daddy)

Friday we spent the day at Silver Dollar City (a gift from Steven's parents) and then some much needed time just relaxing at the condo.  It was such a beautiful stay.  There's a strong possibility I spent 90% of my time in one of the TWO gigantic jacuzzi tubs at the condo.  It was a dream.

We headed home Saturday after breakfast and a tiny bit of shopping because we couldn't stand being away from our girl any longer!  Not to mention Ryan, Cassie, and that sweet baby Kinslee were there!!!  And for the record:  Annie did GREAT and probably didn't even notice that we were gone :/  We had such a fun get away and was definitely much needed!

Oh.  And I forgot to mention that just hours after Steven and his dad finished the maintenance on our Mazda we ended up trading it for this:

Happy Anniversary and Christmas to me!

(We've been talking about getting a van... and when Steven mentioned it to his dad, Bill recommended a dealership nearby.  We happened to go there while test driving the Mazda (after its maintenance) and we found the exact van we had been looking at!  It is completely loaded with everything but a heated steering wheel... and was below the price point we had been looking at!)

AND for all of you who may make fun of me for driving a van... don't knock it until you've tried one this spectacular (or have to travel as much as we do!)
