Clocks.
Annie is obsessed with clocks lately. She can spot a clock from a mile away. Well, not literally, but you get it. She likes clocks with hands, not the digital ones.
Steven has a clock in his bathroom downstairs, and that's where her obsession started. She could hear it ticking, and so she'd make an "uh" sound - which meant that she wanted to see it. Steven took it down for her and she stared that clock over. She looked at the front, at the back, picked it up, wagged it around... and it's been true love ever since.
If there is a clock in the room, she will let you know - by immediately saying.. "clock, clock, clock," (only, she doesn't pronounce the "l"). You then have to take her to the clock so that she can see it, at which point she will request that you take it down and give her an even closer look. She has not yet come to terms with the fact that most clocks are not toys and cannot be played with.
It's so funny though because she knows exactly where HER clock is (the one in the bathroom). Steven sleeps during the day, so our room is off limits. Anytime we are near the room she walks to the door and immediately starts saying "clock." I take her in to wake him up in the evenings and after she has poked and prodded him awake, she starts asking about her clock. It's so cute.
I took her to Target yesterday and you should have seen her when we passed the clock section. She didn't quite know what to do with herself. She wanted to look at and touch every single one of them. We had somewhere to be, so I just pushed the cart by the isle so that she could get a look at them. Maybe this will be a good form of entertainment for her in the future when we need to get out of the house.
