Wild and Wonderful.... Part 2

So to keep those of you who actually read this blog in the loop on what has gone down in the last week.. here goes (although my ability to remember dates seem to escape me... so I'll just touch on areas and leave dates out!)

Steven's Arm Situation:

  • The doctor got approval from Worker's Comp to go forth with the work on his arm.
  • Three weeks after his fall, Steven gets 4 of his 7 stitches out, but he still needs to use steri strips to make sure the wound stays closed... and three stitches need to remain in because it hasn't healed enough.
  • He gets his MRI this past Saturday... and hours later the doctor calls him back ordering him to the hospital to get an ultrasound on his arm.  They think an infection could be involved.
  • He gets his ultrasound  and the doctor draws some fluid out of his arm to send it off for testing (Im not sure why or what's going on with this)... and now... we're waiting.  We're pretty sure there's not an infection, but they're still a bit baffled by what's causing the bulge.  It's a little scary.... but there's no pain in his arm other than the intense amount of bruising, so we are praising God for that!!

The New House Situation:

Let me just start by saying how amazing our God truly, truly is.  Weeks ago my biggest stressor was finding a place to live.  I cannot tell you the amount of weight I bore under the pressure of finding housing in 3 short weeks.  God has provided SO greatly... that I feel like I've hardly had to ask him for anything.   I prayed in the beginning that he would help take the stress off of me.. because it was not good for me and definitely not healthy for this little baby darling I'm growing in me - and he has beyond provided.  He has worked out every detail for us so finely... that I feel like all I'm doing is sitting back and watching Him do His thing.  I feel like I should be on my face begging him to move - but He's moving... so instead I'm on my face praising Him for how greatly He has moved!
  • The inspection went well!  Only a few things were found: garage door opener was broken, doorbell doesnt ding, one of the window frames were a bit busted thus causing the window not to stay raised properly, and the garbage disposal rubber protector thingy needed replaced.. etc..
  • The sellers agree to pay for the repairs which total up to a little over $900.
  • The appraisal has been done - everything looks great!
  • The bank has [almost] everything they need from us.  I have to say this has been the most pleasant experience I've ever had with a bank.  The VP of finance and I are on a first name basis... and when I email him he typically responds within minutes.  It's amazing.
  • The insurance guy is working hard for us and got us an amazing deal on our homeowners...and auto policy!
  • Our realtor has been fantastic too!  I've never seen a realtor go so much out of their way for someone!
  • We even got a steal on some new appliances from Lowe's that we wanted.  A fridge, for example, for $1200 off.  Yes.  Discounted $1200 off of the original price.  And she's a beauty.  AND they gave us free delivery!!!
  • The utilities have been turned on and we are just waiting for move in day!!!
The Old/Current House Situation
  • I have been packing away like a maniac.  I'm not finished yet, but will be by Wednesday night. 100% ready to go!!
  • Up until  5 mintues ago we were in a frenzy because we haven't been able to get in touch with our landlords for about 2 weeks.  When I mailed them this month's rent check I notified them of our moving out.  I've been trying to contact them for 2 weeks now to let them know about the details of our move and to talk to them about getting our deposit back (a money we are depending on!).  We have left them COUNTLESS messages and they have yet to call us back...until 5 minutes ago!!
  • PRAISE. THE. LORD, once again, He has worked His magic.  I dont even think I've prayed about this aspect (the one I just told you about) and He has moved anyways!  The landlords called and said they'd give us our deposit sometime this week since they are leaving town Saturday... and are trusting that I will clean the place to perfection.  WOO HOO!!!
The Moving Situation:
  • We have reserved a 26ft (woa) Budget truck with a cardolly to tow Steven's car on.
  • We'll start the moving party at 10am this Saturday!  So many gracious friends from our church have agreed to come and help us!  With me being halfway through my pregnancy and Steven's bummed arm... I dont think either of us need to do much heavy lifting!  But lo and behold - God has provided!
  • We will stick around for church and our farewell party on Sunday... and then head out Monday morning!  We are scheduled to arrive on Tuesday, July 3rd.
  • Since we have no connections in KC, I contacted a moving company regarding the unloading of our truck.  We were nervous about shelling out even MORE cash for this crazy move...but (Thank you Lord, once more) - their fee is only $100 to unload!!!!  This excites me beyond measure, and once again removes a big stressor!
  • Since we are moving in the midst of a holiday, we get to keep our truck an extra day without having to pay a fee... which is another blessing.  It will decrease our need to rush rush rush!
Whew!  So as you can see... life is still a bit of a whirlwind and I predict it will be for a few more weeks.  But I hope what you see even more than the whirlwind we are flying through is how greatly God has provided!!  It just serves as more confirmation that we're moving in the right direction!!!
