Pregnancy: Month 4
At last. The month where we can both breathe a little easier knowing that the risk for miscarriage is significantly low. Praise GOD for bringing our sweet baby to this point :)
Steven had an incident at his current job and ended up with 7 stitches in his arm and some major swelling. What great timing - a week before he started his new job.
Towards the end of this week... 15 weeks and 5 days, to be exact - I think baby hit a growth spurt. My belly went from "a tiny bump" to "Wow. Definitely pregnant." Yeah, there's no hiding it... but then again, who would want to!?
Week 16:
I'm noticing that the belly is getting bigger, my boobs are back to being tender, and the longer I stand, the more my lower back hurts. I'm also finding that I wiggle a lot in my sleep. So far I like this week of pregnancy. I look pregnant, and overall I still feel great! P.S. I cant fit into any "normal" pants.. it's all maternity from here on out. Maternity shirts are still a bit big though
Week 17
My apetite has definitely increased! It takes more to fill me up and I'm hungry more often. Just another great sign that baby is growing well! And........
**Insert Drum Roll Here***
We would like to introduce you to....little miss Annie Elise Alexander!! That's right ladies and gentlemen! WE'RE HAVING A GIRL!!! Both of us really wanted a girl, so we are beyond excited!! And here she is... in all of her glory.
Week 14:
I can no longer button my pants. I had to break out the rubber bands and belly band (which I am not a fan of) and the low band maternity pants! I'm very thankful for summer... and dresses :) I also experienced my first migraine, which lasted for 4 days. Luckily I work a suite away from my doctor, so I was able to run next door and get some advice for meds. It's really nice to have that "walk-in" relationship with her. She's the best.
I also experienced how sensitive "pregnant skin" really is to sunlight. My doctor warned me about this, but I didn't realize how intense this really was. I had a yard sale with my friend. I kept myself in the shade all day long. At the end of the sale, when we were packing up - I was in the scorching 90 degree heat for a whopping 15 minutes - and my arms fried like a chicken. See? This is 15 minutes worth of exposure. Yes, I said 15 minutes. . That night Steven and I went to WalMart and purchased sunscreen. I now feel like the Vietnamese... who avoid sunlight at all costs.
We picked up our nursery furniture!! I found a lady on Craigslist who was selling a crib, changing table, and 4-drawer dresser for $50! Score. We also found out that we were moving..14 hours away... to Kansas City, Missouri! Steven got a job as a licensed mechanic for Republic Airlines! EEK! Talk about a major change. Moving to a new city, where we hardly know anyone (and by hardly I mean... we know one couple: Jayme and Jonathan Lock... who we knew from Arkansas & who also photographed our wedding!) - and we'll be welcoming a baby in this unfamiliar territory! Yikes.
