How We Told The World
We waited until April Fools Day to announce our pregnancy to the world. We figured that many would think that we were kidding… or pulling a prank – and they did!! It was absolutely perfect.
We did a mini photo shoot on Saturday with our friend Amanda – and posted this photo on facebook:
Most everyone said “Aw Congratulations” or something of the sort, but others were skeptical. Our friends Trish and Adam Williams were convinced that it was a joke – as were our pastor and his wife Laura.
The funniest comment came from Adam when he said “Um, looks like someone can’t add” and then “Oh! You’re getting a pet?”
I will say that earlier in the day my friend Nikki told Amanda that she was going to pull a similar prank, so when I did this she immediately texted me saying “Aw you stole my idea!” completely convinced that we were joking. (Steven and I didn’t reply to any texts or comments for hours!) We really enjoyed watching people speculate… it was really funny!! We no doubt chose the perfect day to make our special announcement!!
Towards the middle of the day I get a call from my aunt Sandy congratulating me on the pregnancy. She said that mom called and told her and said that she needed to make a few more calls (keeping in mind I asked my mom to keep a can on it!) So I text my mom and told her to pipe down so that people could speculate. Her reply? “You told me to wait until today… you didn’t say how long” and then she said “I havent told anyone except Carol, Linda S, Curtis, Sandy, Kathy, Kris, and Judy.. that’s all.”
That’s all?!?! HAHA!!! She’s a hoot.
Anyways… after family members started commenting on our photo, we decided it was time to confirm, so then we posted this:
Again, it was so much fun seeing everyone comment and sharing with us in our overwhelming excitement!!!
