What It Means to Follow

At the end of March, my very best friends moved to Asia. (They will be there for two years serving our Father.) I spent a lot of time helping them clear out their apartment before they left - and was able to take a few photos once the task was complete. These photos speak such a beautiful story to me. Regardless of how great the quality of my photography is.. the pictures depict a story that words simply cannot. This is what it looks like to leave everything you know for the sake of your King. This is what it means to sell everything you own (literally) and follow. To deny yourself, take up your cross... and follow your Father to the ends of the earth. To take the message of His cross to the nations. I was so moved even as I edited these. I mean - can you imagine selling EVERYTHING you own to move completely across the world? To a place where everything is unfamiliar - the people, the language, the culture? No family, no friends?... everything is different. Packing all of your material possessions in four suitcases and travelling over 30 hours all for the sake of making HIS name great among the nations? This, my friends, is the kind of stuff our Maker calls us to. THIS is what it means to follow.
