Insanity - Week 1 Report
Don't worry everyone, I'm still alive!! I have decided that there is no name more appropriate for this workout program. Before I popped these videos in, I did not preview them. I woke up every morning at 5:30am, put the appropriate one in the player - and did my best to keep up. I was full of fire for the first few days. I could hardly sleep because I was so anticipating the workouts! However, I found myself dreading them as the week went on.
Now that I know what the workouts are... I find it harder to make myself do them, because I know what I'm getting myself into.
For those of you who are interested/curious about what it is... it is 40 minutes of pure cardio. You do about 5-6 minutes of exercise, take a 30 second rest, repeat those exercises faster, take a 30 second rest, and then repeat them for a third time as hard and as fast as you can, take a 30 second rest, and then repeat that with a new set of exercises. Some videos are harder than others. There is one: pure cardio - where there are hardly any rests... its just pounding out as many exercises as fast as you can while praying and repenting because you are certain that you are fixing to die. Another: Cardio Power & Resistance consists of jump squats, push ups, and that sort. It still kills you cardio wise, but its harder b/c of the muscles it works!
Steven did day 6 with me and has agreed that the P90X is CAKE compared to this workout! I am finding that I really enjoy it, even though it is beating the life out of me.
Things I have noticed:

Things I have noticed:
- Its amazing what you can force your body to do
- I had no idea a person could be so sore. I have never been in so much pain from exercising in my life. Well, that's not true. I felt about the same (or worse) than I did when I hiked 50 miles on the Appalachian Trial. There were a few days where I couldn't stand on my tippie toes... and it was difficult to drive my car b/c I struggled to push the clutch in due to sore legs.
- Good News: 1 week later - The soreness is gone! (Praise the LORD!!!!)
- Something wonderful is happening with my metabolism. I am eating 5 (300 calorie) meals a day. At first I thought that this would be a lot, but I am finding that when meal time comes, I welcome it with open arms! I am super hungry by the time its ready to eat again!
- I do not feel like a slug anymore!
- It is very difficult to wake up at 5:30am, but is completely worth getting my workout over! Once the workout is over and a few hours pass, the pain/tiredness leaves.
- My stomach feels a little flatter. I havent done measurements so I dont know if this is true - but it doesnt feel as bloaty!
Oh... I forgot to mention: I have been refined sugar free for 3 weeks. The only thing I really miss is good ole southern style sweet tea....
Sounds so challenging!!! Hang in there! (And don't go to Sonic any time soon!!!) :)
