The Ash Heap!
Hm... so whats been going on in the life of the Alexanders?!
- It's February!! How the heck did this happen? Seems like we were just in Arkansas a few weeks ago (we went in November).
- Steven started his second semester of college - and is even MORE in love than he was last semester. He has lots of interesting classes - including an electronics class, which he greatly enjoys. Its so much fun watching him build circuits on the dining room table! So far he has taken 3 tests and has Aced every one of them. I have a feeling he will pull off a 4.0 AGAIN this semester. He is such a good student!
- I am really enjoying my new... or... not so new anymore - job! I have been here for a little over 3 months now (woa). I'm still learning so much. In January one of my coworkers quit and so I have absorbed her job. I am doing my job... and hers. I stay busy, but I love busy. I also enjoy the people I work with. They are hilarious and there is never a dull moment around this place. (Im actually writing this on my lunch break... so when I say this place, Im actually here at the present moment)
- My baby fever is still really high. I have read several parenting books and am now in the process of reading a book lots of my friends have recommended "Taking Charge of your Fertility" to learn a little more about my body so that next year when we start trying for a baby... we will have immediate success (HAH). I have only made it through a few chapters but it is proving to be extremely educational. One of the friends who recommended it has three children and they have all been perfectly timed. (She's great at having babies. She's actually planning getting pregnant with a 4th in September)
- A lot of people keep encouraging us to not wait and go for it, but it is extremely important to me to be a stay at home mom, so there will be no babies until at the VERY least summer of 2012.
- We've had quite a bit of snow this winter, but we haven't had any HUGE snows like we did last year and I'm a bit disappointed. Last year I was STOKED to see 2 inches - and now I dont get excited unless there are at least 4-5 on the ground (which has happened a few times). I love snow. I also love spring. And summer. And fall. I just love WV - point blank.
- My dear friends Ira and Mel will be leaving for Vietnam next month if everything goes according to plan. They could be pushed back a month, but either way... they will be going very soon and will be gone for two years. This is very exciting, and very sad.
- I made Steven and I a sticker chart to help give us a visual reminder of the goals we want to accomplish. It is working well. In fact, we got up at 5:15 this morning to exercise to be sure we earned our P90X sticker for the day. (we are starting over... again at week one). I want to be 10lbs lighter. And I will be.
- Our church is doing great!! As a one year old replant, things are really looking up! Our pastor is looking at coming on full time in April (which will be awesome) and he has so much vision for it! Steven and I are fired up about it and where we are heading! We love Crossroads Church and we love the people there. I mean, after all it's why we moved to WV in the first place. The church has had a rough year so it is amazing to see the work that God is doing in the hearts and lives of our leadership - and the body!! I am so thankful to be a part of it.
