Forget the How
Before Moses was even born, the Lord knew the kind of man he would be. He knew that as a baby he would be placed in a basket and put into the Nile river. God knew that Pharoah’s daughter would find him and that he would be reunited with his birth mother. God knew he would be raised as Pharoah’s nephew. God knew that he would murder… and that Pharoah would try to kill him. God knew ALL of these things before this little guy was ever born. Yet, he was born.
And God chose this Hebrew to rescue the people of Israel. God knew the task he would present to Moses … even when he was a baby. Even though no one at the time knew it, Moses life was spared as a babe for a great purpose.
As an adult, God appeared to him and told Moses his plan… that HE would deliver God’s people.
I find it interesting that God chose him before time for this task… God chose to use a murder to DELIVER his people. God can use even the most sinful people to accomplish his great purposes!
I’m sure prior to this occurance Moses would have never in a million years imagined that God… THE GOD OF THE UNIVERSE would verbally speak to him through a bush (of all things)… and ask him to plead for his people.
I also find it interesting that in this moment Moses didn’t question God… he didn’t ask “how” .. he just said OK. And after he submitted in obedience, God provided the way and gave him the "how."
How many times do we fear doing the things God calls us to because we cant see the “how?” We need to forget the how… just OBEY. God already has the how.
