Oh There's No Place Like Home..
FOR THE HOLIDAYS!!!
That's right! Steven and I will be heading to Arkansas for Thanksgiving as soon as I get off work tonight!! Last year at this time we were in the Dominican Republic sweating and shoveling dirt in the Bateys. I don't think there will ever be a Thanksgiving that can compare to that one!!
We have just about everything packed up and ready to go - we will just have to throw a few last minute things in the car & change into our comfy travel clothes before we hit the road. It was ridiculously expensive to fly this year, so we opted to drive. 12. Hours. AH. We only have a short amount of time to spend there, so we are driving all night. We have lots of caffeine and sugary snacks to help us along! If things go as planned, we will arrive around 6am tomorrow.
I have a lunch date at 11:00 and a photo appointment at 2:30, so hopefully I will be able to run on a few hours of sleep. Someone at work told me earlier, "You're young... You can do it." I turned 25 yesterday, which means I'm getting older. And young or not, I'm the world's biggest sleepyhead. I require 9 hours of sleep... but I suppose by force & the power of God I'll be able to function on 4 tomorrow!
I'm excited about my photo shoots: I am doing a photo shoot for my cousin Charlotte - of her 5 grand kids tomorrow. The leaves are still on the trees there, so it should be gorgeous!! I'm also doing one for my Grandma on Thursday since all 9 of her children will be in town. THEN at some point Steven is going to do some of me and my family (of my parents/siblings) - we haven't had a family photo taken since I was 8... and I was missing my 2 front teeth! EEK!
I'm also stoked about seeing my family again! And they're excited to see my hubby - he hasn't been home since January!!
So pray for us as we set out on our long 12 hour journey!
