A Horse & His Girl
A few weekends ago I had the opportunity to do a photo shoot with Chelsie Weed- and her horse Merril. It's the first time I've ever done a person/animal shoot - much less in motion! It was a rainy kind of day and even started pouring towards the end of our time together, but I managed to complete the shoot!! It was dirty and smelly - but I had a lot of fun doing it!!!
Watching Chelsie with Merril was such a blessing to me! To see the love that this girlie has for her horse - and more, the love he has for her! He was so relaxed and calm. When dogs started running around us, Merril remained calm. He didnt freak out, he just simply followed where Chelsie lead. When she told him to do something, He did it without a fuss. He was so obedient and trusted every movement Chelsie lead him in. I couldnt help but think about our relationships with our heavenly father. The love he has for us. Why do we have issues trusting him? Mistrust= "to regard with doubt or suspicion; lack of faith; lack of confidence." Do we really think that God will lead us astray? Why do we doubt our God? Romans 8:28 says "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." And in verse 31 "If God is for us, then who can be against us?" God has our BEST in mind - even when we think differently.
Think about that this week - about a horse and his girl... and the trust he has towards her. When she tells him to turn to the right - he turns. When she tells him to turn to the left - he turns. When she tells him to go or stop - he does. And he is merely a horse. How much more should we trust our Father - who holds all things together?

It was your heading that caught my attention this morning. "I Am Not Skilled to Understand" is a great hymn written by Dora Greenwell, born on this day in 1821.
ReplyDeleteThere's a lot we don't know, about the Lord, and how He works. But there are very important things He has revealed to us in His Word. That Christ died for our sins (I Cor. 15:3) is the central truth emphasized by Miss Greenwell.
