DR Update
The Good News: A team from our church is going to the Dominican Republic in less than a month! The Bad news: We will not be going.
Unfortunately we were not able to raise enough funding to be able to go this time. Steven and I sent out over 100 support letters, and less than 10 people responded. With the help of those few supporters and the help of those in WV who "hired us" for work, we raised a total of $539... which is $1861 short of what we needed to be able to go.
It seems as though life has been going 90-to-nothing for the last 6 months. Things never slow down. We are constantly on the move, doing something...We are both exhausted. We have given everything that we have to give - and we have nothing left. Honestly, I'm not sure that we would have served effectively in the DR if we would have gone. We are both drained physically and emotionally. I believe that God is a great God and that He could empower us to do the work He has prepared for Crossroads in the DR - but He has chosen instead to keep us here and allow us time to recuperate.
We would have LOVED to have gone to the Dominican Republic... we are really bummed that we are not going - but we know that our God is sovereign and we are trusting that our Father knows what we need far more than we do!!
Thanks for your prayers and thanks for your support!! For those who have given financially - we will be contacting you soon to discuss options of things to do with the monetary support!
Please continue to pray for those who are going...
