WE HAVE A HOUSE!!
Well, an apartment... but close enough!
OH- and going back to the whole Brouillard thing. The day we found this place is when Leasa & Duane decided that they needed to put a notice in to be out of their WV place by July 1st - but they were so worried b/c that would once again make us homeless. They had no idea at this time that we had found a place! The coolest thing is - we weren't even really searching for a place.... God just kind of dropped in in our laps. God's timing is so crazy awesome! We are moving in 1.5 weeks... which means we will have moved twice within a month's time. Not the most convenient thing, but we can see God's hand upon the entire situation, which is of greater worth than any inconvenience. God doesn't always do things that are convenient to us - He knows what's best & works everything out for the good of those who love him :)

As you are all aware, Steven & I moved out of the house we were renting from the Suiter's on May 8th (almost 3 weeks ago). We have since been staying at Duane & Leasa Brouillard's home while they are away in North Dakota. The Brouillards finished up their stay in North Dakota today and are headed to do some sight-seeing & then on to Iowa to visit family. They have been praying that God would show them the next step of their journey - where they're supposed to go, where they're supposed to work.... and although there is no definitive answer to this, there are lots of options. The Brouillard's have decided to move their things back home to Iowa (unless God points them in another direction) - because right now they are paying their mortgage & a lease... THAT'S 2 HOUSES! There is potential for Duane to travel for different jobs throughout the summer, and there's no reason to make 2 house payments - which i 100% agree on!
So keep that in mind.
Last week I casually looked through the classifieds online in the Fairmont paper. Steven and I havent been hard core searching for a place, but we do check the papers daily. I ran across an ad that I thought could be either really good - or absolutely horrible, but I figured it was worth the effort to call... so I did. I talked to the land lady for 25 minutes & she told me I could go over & peek through the windows.... I did this & really liked what I saw, so Steven & I made an appointment to take a better look inside. We met with her on Friday & LOVED the place!! Now, it's downtown Fairmont which means that its not some ritzy neighborhood - but its perfect for us. It's far enough away from the college students where we won't be surrounded by parties and naked people all the time, but close enough to where i can literally be downtown in 1.5 minutes. It has all the space we need inside.... and A 2 CAR GARAGE!! Not to mention a nice deck on the back!! After some talking we decided to take it. It is not our dream home... but WE ARE COLLEGE STUDENTS. College students have to pay for college.... and our goal is to do it 100% debt free (which if we stay on track, will be cake). It would have been nice to find a cozy little house in a great family neighborhood, but that isnt really where we are in life right now. So we took this place. Why? BECAUSE IT'S ONLY $450 A MONTH!!

Check it out: (it's actually a duplex, but they are remodeling the upstairs so it will be vacant for a long time...) - I took these through the windows... so I'll post more once we move in and get things all set up!!!!

(They are in process of replacing the siding around the garages - it will be finished before we move in)

Yah, congrats!!! That is so exciting, it looks so nice!!! :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! And you will be a great deal closer. Just in case an actual visit occurs. ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks Danielle!!
ReplyDeleteAnd Angie - YES... much closer - and a visit WILL occur.. I mean, a new baby is almost involved!!
Ashley, We had a very small galley type kitchen in our last house, and I loved it. Also, we can loan you the mortgage CD of the Dave Ramsey series. Don't know if it'll be anything new, but he has a great plan. Can Steven do yard work or maintenance for the landlord for rent reduction? Jeanna
