MISSION: DOMINICAN REPUBLIC!

The time has come once again to start making preparations to go to the DOMINICAN REPUBLIC!! Steven & I are so excited to get to go back and see Pastor Francisco, his family, and all of the other people we have started to build relationships with! How thrilled we are at the opportunity to continue work on the feeding center our church started over a year ago! To be the hands & feet of Jesus to a community that has nothing! (Trip Dates: July 27-August 3)

We shared in our support letter (that we mailed out on Friday) that while we were there in November, we learned that just our presence there makes an impact on the nationals! They consider Americans to be the WEALTHIEST people in the world. We are by the way... in case you doubt that. We are. So they see us as being able to go anywhere in the world we want! We have "unlimited" money in their eyes and can do absolutely anything - so it raises their eyebrows whenever they see a group of Americans in their batey shoveling dirt, pouring concrete, and sweating like crazy! It makes them curious as to what in the world we are doing there! Why are we working in dirty, hot conditions... when we could be somewhere else. Pastor Francisco uses this as an opportunity to share the gospel with them! They see Pastor Francisco as a lowly pastor that has no resources.. yet.. somehow he talked a team of Americans into coming to the DR & getting dirty!! How?! He is able to share with them that it is not HE who does this.. but it is the Lord who is providing! It is GOD who sees the needs of the people and is providing this feeding center! He uses our work to point the nationals to Jesus!! How awesome is that?!?

So, to get ready.. we mailed out our support letters on Friday in hopes to raise funding for this trip!! We didn't raise as much as we anticipated last year and ended up having to pay $2,000 out of our pockets (this also included passport fees). God blessed us with the resources to be able to do that last year & we were so thankful! This year however, with all that has been going on, we will not be able to shell out that kind of money! We know that the Lord has called us to that and so therefore we are claiming 1 Thess. 5:24 which says, “The one who called you is faithful and He will do it.” We are trusting that the Lord will provide!

So as we begin the process of raising funding and preparing to go, we want to invite you to tag a long with us! Be praying for our team as we assemble & start prepping! Pray that above all else GOD would be glorified & that HIS name would be made great!! Pray for us as well - that the Lord would provide!
