View of God
"Our most rudimentary problem is that we do not fully comprehend who God is. Our thoughts about him have become very unclear, fuzzy and oblique. The result of this distorted view of deity leaves everything else out of focus as well. Whenever we loose a right view of God, everything else gets out of perspective. Essentially our view of God will form our view of everything else. It will be the lens through which we perceive reality and it will shape our thoughts, world view, attitudes, and perceptions. When our view of God is erroneous, our view of other things will be erroneous by default." - Steve Lawson
So often we make God out to be who we want Him to be, don't we? When things are going well for us - we think God is so good and so gracious, but when things are going badly, that's when our true view of God comes out. We see him as some mean and horrible God. Rather than seek Him for who He really is, we allow our feelings to rule the way we see God. But in all truth, God does not change. He remains the same always. (Heb 13:8) It's not God that changes. It's our view of Him that does.
