The 4th of July!
Steven and I took a surprise visit to Arkansas over the 4th of July! We flew out on Wednesday and arrived in AR around 2am! We got to my parents house and beat and beat on the door until we realized it was unlocked! About the time we walked in my dad was coming to the door. He was so very excited to see me! I woke mom up and though she was going to squeeze me to death! It was a very big surprise to them - they had no idea we were coming!!
We had a great 5 days there, though it was VERY hot. Someone made the comment that we've only been gone 3 months. 3 months or not, we are so spoiled to the perfect WV summer climate!! The night of the 4th we had a cookout at my aunt's. It was dark outside and Steven looks over and says, "It's dark outside... why am I still sweating!?"
Nick had Madison over the weekend, so I was able to spend some sweet time with her and my cute little Caleb! I cannot believe how much those two have grown! It was really great being able to spend time with my family. I've missed them!
We got home at 2:30am on Monday (Tuesday, actually). I don't know what i was thinking scheduling our flight so late (granted there were delays..). Steven and i both had to work Tuesday, so we really struggled getting up and staying awake through our day! I think I'm more tired today than I was yesterday. Guess it's all catching up!
We really enjoyed our time with my family in Arkansas, but I have to say that I am very glad to be home, back in West Virginia. It's amazing how much we have adapted in such a short time period. We love our friends and our church family beyond measure! I am so thankful for the people that we have in our lives! And I am so thankful that God moved us here...
