I had such a great time with the Lord this morning - man, I really needed that!! Church was absolutely amazing yesterday! Our pastor brings such fire to the pulpit!! I love it! I was in a really funky spot yesterday afternoon- for several reasons - but I think I'm going to be okay! haha! I begged God this morning to restore to me the joy of His salvation and that He would grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me! Our Savior can move mountains - and he is mighty to save!!
This morning in my time with God, He reminded me in Psalm 14 that there is no one who does good - not even one. We have all turned aside and have become corrupt! David poses a question in this Psalm: "Will evildoers never learn?" I just think about the stupid things I do over and over again and that question just permeated my mind... will I never learn?!
Ephesians tells us, "Be very careful then, how you live - not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity because the days are evil. Therefore, do not be foolish but understand what the Lord's will is. (5:15-17)" Max Lucado says that we are "one gift of grace removed from tragedy, addiction, and disaster." and I believe that!! He also says this - and how true I believe it is!! "You'll never know that Jesus is all you need until Jesus is all you have." So often I forget what my Jesus is to me. It is only when I am at the end of the rope that I remember Him. Why do I forget him so often!? Why do I only look to him when I'm desperate or when things aren't going my way! Why is my flesh so fickle?! God, restore to me the joy of your salvation!!
"Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything. (Ps. 14)
"You are strong, you are great, you are the Most High, you are the almighty King! ... you are our inner peace and our joy. You are hope. You are almighty God who lives forever and a merciful savior who gave your life for me!" - Francis of Asissi from a Personal Parchment
Father, help me to sing and proclaim you from the depths of my being... until you yourself are my strength and my song!! Saturate my MIND!!
