I forgot to blog yesterday, so we'll count this one as yesterday's post! I had a great weekend - I worked at Mike's Friday! It was almost out of control crazy, but I somehow managed to survive! Saturday Melanie went to Memphis with me to drop off my recycles and do a tiny bit of shopping! I had to buy a new paper shredder because apparently not all of them eat paper clips. (My new one does!!) I also got a new bathmat for my bathroom! We switched our decor out in November, but never replaced the rug because we couldn't find one we liked. Our shower curtain is chocolate with different shades of tan, and blue circles all over. The mat is tan and green. It looked awful! I found the one I wanted for $9.99 *yay!* That night Steven and I ate at Mike's, oddly enough, with Chris and Amy and then all of us, along with the refugees from Williams (Ira, Mel, Collin, and Tanesha) went to Chris and Amy's to watch a movie! Good times!!
Sunday I got to hang out with almost 6 month old nephew! He is at such a fun age! Later on, we had a superbowl party at the youth building, so that was great. Steven and I left after the 2nd quarter - he had to get up at 3am for work on Monday!
Quiet Time:
"Sincere Love"
Loving others isn't simply being nice to them, being sensitive to their feelings - or just NOT hating them. Genuine love says 'you're more important than me and your needs come before mine.' My bible commentary says that "sincere love requires concentration and effort. It means helping others become better people." I love that - helping others become better people. Hm... what kind of love are we showing to those around us? Are we just pretending to love them - or are we loving them sincerely?
"Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourself." - Phil 2:3
