Humbled and in Awe
As I sit here and reflect on the goodness of God, I am so humbled by his grace and His mercy. I look back over the last year or so of my life and I see how God has so orchestrated events in my life to keep me near to Him. There are so many times where God could have left me to myself - where He could have chosen to release His grasp on my life, yet He never let me go. He drew me near - when I turned away from Him, He held me close and He never let go. How amazing it is to have a God who loves you so much - Agape Love.
I read today that "God works out for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to His purpose...If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all - how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?" (Romans)
I have been on an up and down roller coaster of spiritual complacency for far too long - and God brought me to that point of recognition a few weeks ago. He told me that I have "stayed long enough at this mountain. Break camp and advance...(Deuteronomy 1)." And as I felt the call of God on my life to remove myself from complacency - to get up and do what I was created to do - it has been a whirlwind!! We were not created to simply exist. We were created to glorify God in all that we are.
So as I gave God 100% control of my life, surrendering all that I am, all that I have - He has began to do a work in me that I cannot even describe. He has shown me that His plans are bigger than our plans - and that He is the God of the universe, the Maker of Heaven and Earth - and that His way is far better than we could ever imagine. I see things over and over again that prove His greatness - and I praise Him for holding on to me. I praise Him for never letting me go!
With that said: God is up to something in our lives - and I just ask for you all to take us to the floor when you think of us. I believe God is taking us through a process - a process that will prove to us that He is bigger than we allow Him to be. His only request is that we trust and obey.
The process began with our house. Our house has been on the market since May - and we have not had anyone look at it in 2.5 months! Last week our realtor called and had a couple that wanted to come look, so we set it up. A week later (yesterday) they wanted to look again because they were so in love with it. They made us an offer on it last night that we could not accept - we countered back with the price we needed to pay our house off... and today, they accepted it. They are not taking a loan out for our house - they are paying cash for it, which means that it is a guarantee. There's no fear or worry of a loan falling through. This is guaranteed money! Isn't it amazing how God provides for us?!
We are closing the deal on January 9th. They still have a lease on their apartment, so we have agreed to stay in our house and rent from them until April 1, which gives "the process" time to take place. So, providing God is doing what I think He is doing (He's God, so I really have no idea what He's up to) - then April is the perfect time for the plan to unveil. So, as I watch God work - I am overwhelmed!!
Pray for us - and Praise God for his awesome grace and mercy that he freely lavishes upon us!
