A funny occurance

Funny/stupid things do not happen to me very often. There are a lot of times when I witness something funny that happens to someone else... but those kind of things - you know, the ones that can make "America's Funniest Home Videos" never happen to me..... until yesterday!!
To help you understand the story a little better: I HATE getting out of bed in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. I will lay in bed and hold it for 2 hours before I will get up and go. Somehow my mind is set to thinking "if you get up, you'll lose that time in sleeping!" or "You are so warm and cozy - if you get up you'll be all cold and you won't be able to go back to sleep." Not even thinking that the whole time I have to go to the bathroom I'm already a little awake b/c I have to make a conscious effort not to go on myself. The best thing would be to get up - go to the bathroom... which takes a whopping 2 minutes - and sleep perfectly through the night, right?!
My husband gets on to me time and time again because when I wake up - I have to creep into the bathroom because I feel like I will explode if I get hasty. He says to me, "just get up and go to the bathroom!!! It's not that big of a deal. Wake up, go, and go back to sleep! You're hurting your bladder!"
So - understanding that: I'm laying in bed Tuesday night/early Wednesday morning when I get the urge to go. After laying in bed for an hour debating whether or not to get up in the cold - I finally decide at 5am to get up. "It will just take a minute. You'll be in and out really quickly!!" I get up and HURRY to the door. I was sleeping pretty hard... so when I got up, my eyes wouldn't completely focus. I usually feel around for a doorway - so I felt the doorway with my left hand, put my hand on the doorway, took a giant step forward and ***POW*** slammed my head right into the door!!! (Before Steven came to bed, he shut the door, leaving a crack) - I approached it in such an angle to where I could feel the doorway without actually seeing/feeling the door. When I went to go through the doorway, I got caught by the door - I banged my head on the corner of the door - which caused the door to smash my thumb, which was on the doorway. It was so loud - it woke Steven up (and that's not easy to do)!! He sat up in the bed and said, "Oh my gosh honey what are you doing?!?" I told him what happened (which he already knew) and he said, "DID YOU NOT OPEN YOUR EYES WHEN YOU GOT OUT OF BED?!?!"
I whined all the way to the bathroom, used it, and came back to bed with a whopping knot on my noggin! I went back to sleep and when I woke up a few hours later - I had this red mark going down the top of my forehead (where the door hit) and a bruised knot on my head!! Not only that, but I looked down at my thumb and it had a small knot with a deep purple bruise on it.
Luckily I have bangs... which pretty much cover my knot - but one of my co-workers nicknamed me "knot head" *HA HA*
It looks a lot better today - almost unnoticeable! The red line is gone... and the knot has gone down a little - but it still hurts pretty bad and there is slight bruising! Thank heavens for bangs! haha!!
no pictures? :( Just kidding!
ReplyDeletehaha.. it's really not as bad as it sounds... it just hurts terribly!
