Dismissing Self
My quiet time today dealt with prayer and praying in the Spirit... and how to know what the Spirit says to you seek Him.
Blackaby says, "I cannot give you a formula, but you will know His voice when he speaks to you. You must decide, however, that you want only His will. You must dismiss any selfish or fleshly desires of your own. Then as you start to pray, the Spirit of God touches your heart and leads you to pray God's will."
God continues to reveal that truth to me time and time again: that it's not about me or what I want: It's all about HIM and it's all for His glory!! It doesn't matter what I want or what I think is best for me - God already knows!! God will always lead me in his truth !!
We're still trying to sell our house - with the plan to move to WV. I really wrestled with God the other night about this - and I realized that I'm limiting God in what He can do with my life. Its there or nothing for me!! As we wrestled, I came to the overwhelming reality that God doesn't work according to my plans. He works according to HIS - so the night ended by me saying, "OK God - I'm okay with whatever you want for me!! If you want me to move, okay - if you want me to stay, okay! " And for the first time ever, I really am okay with whatever God wants for me!
And I think God honors that and is already beginning to move!!
