Learning to be Patient

As I continue to ponder our future, God is ever so faithful in revealing Himself to me! I've been really caught up in what to do after our house sells: where to move, etc... and the more I ponder this, the more stressed I get - and the more I want to have a plan and know what's going to happen next - but then God stops me and simply says, "Be Patient and WAIT!"

My time with the Lord this morning was really good! I love it when God reveals Himself to me!!

Isaiah 55:8 says, "'My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,' declares the Lord"

As I read, this passage from Henry Blackaby really stood out to me:

"If you do not have clear instructions from God in a matter, pray and wait. Learn patience. Depend on God's timing, which is always right and best. Don't get in a hurry. He may withhold directions to cause you to seek Him more intently. Don't try to skip over the relationship to start doing something. God is more interested in a love relationship with you than He is in what you can do for Him. If God is having you wait, He may want to develop a deeper relationship with you before He gives you your next assignment. He may have you wait because the timing is not yet right."

God will always give me enough directions for NOW. He may not give me every detail and tell me everything that He wants me to do later, but He will give me enough information for me to make necessary adjustments to take the first step in obedience. When He is ready for me to do something else, He will tell me. In order for me to hear God, I have to know God - and in order for me to know God, I have to continue spending time with Him!! The most important thing in my life is my love relationship with my Father.
