HE CHOSE ME!!!
"There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless, there is no one who does good, not even one." - Romans 3:10-12
This verse strikes me every time I read it! I am ever reminded of how unworthy I am to receive God's love! No one is righteous!! No one! Henry Blackaby said, "In our natural human state we do not seek God on our own initiative...Sin has marred us so deeply no one seeks God on his own initiative."
What?! I don't seek God? Of course I do, right? I had a quiet time today - so therefore I sought Him out - or did I? God takes the initiative in our lives!! It's God who chose ME! I didn't choose God. He chose me! Just as He did his disciples! Peter didn't choose Jesus. Jesus took the initiative! Jesus called Peter and told him to follow. Peter responded to Jesus!
Here's the getter of this whole thing:
Do you realize God determined to love ME? Apart from that, I never would have become a Christian. He had something in mind when he called Me. He began to work in my life. I experienced a love relationship with God when he took the initiative. He opened my understanding. He drew me to Himself. (Blackaby)
I read this statement and I froze. Had it not been for God, I would have never become a Christian!!!! He chose Me!!! God called ME!! I didn't choose him. He loved me so much that He chose to save me!! Praise the LORD!!!
