The Quality of my Love
"Jesus Replied: 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment." - Matthew 22:37-38
God's love for us never changes. It's always the same! If God's love for us were anything but perfect, He would cease being God! Although we don't always love Him, He always Loves us the same!
My relationship with the Father is the most important relationship I possess. Henry Blackaby says, "If you cannot describe your relationship with God by saying that you love him with all of your being, you need to ask the Holy Spirit to bring you into that kind of a relationship." I love God, I do - but I don't think I love him with ALL of my being ALL of the time! I love Him mostly sometimes. I don't think I ever truly realize the love the Father has for me. God shows his love to me in the most wonderful ways and yet I choose to reject him over and over in areas of my life. God wants us to love Him with EVERYTHING that is within us! He wants me to love him with everything I Have!! And that is the thing He revealed to me today: that my life depends on the QUALITY of my love for him. Loving him mostly sometimes isn't enough. It has to be always. My relationship depends on it! To quote Blackaby again, "What is the one thing God wants from you? He wants you to love Him with all your being. Your experiencing God depends on your having this relationship of love. A love relationship with God is more important than any other single factor in your life."
Thank you, Father, for showing me that my love for you isn't what it needs to be! Help me to love you with my whole heart, all of the time! Help me to understand what quality love means!
