One day at a time...
As the struggle of knowing what God wants from my life continues, I came to a radical realization last night (with the help of my beloved)! I'm so caught up in "Where will we be in a month, a year, 5 years? How does school factor into this? What happens if we move during this time? What happens if we don't? Will I waste my time with school? Is it worthwhile to continue? What if ......
That I am completely missing the point! God calls us to follow him ONE day at a time. Not a week or a month at a time, but ONE DAY! My mind has been boggled since our return from West Virginia with many questions, but there are a few things we do know. I believe that God has called me to something higher. He has called me to be more than I am right now. He has called me above and beyond mere existence. But there are some things holding both me and Steven back from doing whatever God might have in store for us: BILLS! Our house, our cars (especially our cars), etc... So... based on yesterday's reflections, when God calls, we have to IMMEDIATELY adjust our lives to Him so that he might work. And although I have no idea what that means for our future, I do know what that means for our right now. It means that we need to sell our stuff, so that when God is ready for us, we will be available! Whenever that may be...
So, as we follow Christ one day at a time, in small steps of obedience, this is what needs to happen right now (practically speaking:)
1. Sell the jeep
2. Sell our house
3. Cut back on unnecessary things: (go to basic cable, lite Internet *right now we pay $45 a month for high speed*, take off Internet, etc... from our cell phones)
Those are the things we change today. Tomorrow is another day - one that I need not worry about until it arrives.

Wow..those are some really radical things. Ira and I have been asking ourselves the same questions about what God would have us do. I'll be praying for you and Steven as ya'll also are making those decisions.
