Sleepless Sleepover

When I got off work at Mike's last night, I went to Brenda Conner's to help her shaperone a sleepover for the girls in our youth group. I don't really know any of them very well... so it was great for me to be able to spend the entire night getting to do that! We had a nice turn out! I'm not sure how many came before I showed up, but there were 8 that actually spent the night! We had such a great time. We made cards for the shut ins and watched a movie called Pamela's Prayer. Such a great portrayal of biblical purity! The movie was a little dated, and the girls kept cracking up about that part, but it was really good for them to see! Brenda and I talked to the girls a little about the importance of setting standards and why it's important to remain pure. The girls were very attentive and responsive! It was just such a great night! I'm so glad I got to know these young ladies more! I have two more Wed. night classes left, and after that I'll be in the lighthouse on Wednesdays - which the girls are excited about. They really need a role model... so I'm excited about becoming a part of their lives! Most of them are really young - and there isn't a lot of unity among the high school and Jr. High girls. The sleepover was a great way to get them interacting among one another - so now I think they'll be more apt to hang out together at church, rather than remaining separated.

So, I'm not really sure how God will use me in their lives, but I pray that he will use me for His glory!

With all of that said, we did not get much sleep! I forgot what it's like to be a teenage girl... sleepless nights. Wow, age takes it's toll on you! So, I'm at work now... dying, b/c I only got 4 hours of sleep **if that** last night!!
