This week has really been hectic for me!! I had an exam Wednesday, that I did not have adequate time to study for - but I THINK I might have done okay on it... I hope! My nephews spend the night with me on Wednesday also - we had fun! I made dinner once we got home. Chase (9) is a really picky eater... at his house, he gets to choose what he wants to eat, but at my house, he didn't have an option. It was really funny watching him try to be obedient in eating his vegetables. He had a hard time choking them down, but he never once argued with me, like he does his mother, about eating them! Afterwards made the boys wash dishes! Koty (who is 12) has to do dishes at his own house, but Chase (9) has never had to wash or rinse a dish in his life!! It was so funny though - Koty whined and complained at first about doing them, but once he realized it wasn't an option - he did it with zero noise! Chase, however, was SO EXCITED!! He could not wait to have a chore! He has no responsibilities at his house and was stoked!! I monitored their process, dried, and put the dishes away - once we were finished Chase looked up at me and said, "So Aint Nashley, did I do a good job??" OF COURSE YOU DID!!!
So I just wonder to myself.. .. what the heck are parents doing? My sister complains that Chase won't eat vegetables and she cant get him to do this or that - but when I have him... and I don't give him an option - he does it in perfect obedience! And that Koty is annoying and won't mind... but if you refuse to tolerate it... there are no problems! The behavior problems I had with them (brothers being brothers kind of things) ceased immediately when I sternly told them, "that's enough!" No lip, no questions!
So we had a great time Thursday - the boys did morning dishes again - without a single complaint! I had trouble getting Chase to use soap in the shower - but that was our only obstacle!
I work a split today - lunch at Lenny's, dinner at Mike's - money has been slow at Mike's this week, so I hope I rock it tonight!!
