Awesome night!!!
I am so completely on fire right now!! We just had an awesome time at my house tonight! God has been pressing upon me to have a family bible study at some point this week, to talk about the meaning of Easter! Everyone makes much of the Easter bunny and egg hunting - and nothing of Jesus on this glorious day!! Tonight is ordinarily a church night, but because it's my only night off this week - it was the only time for this to happen! We ordered pizza and my entire family came over! Mom, dad, nephew, sister, a few cousins... we had a full house! Steven and I read Luke's account of the crucifixion and the resurrection of our Lord! This way my lost family members could hear the truth and see it being read from the word of God!! There are so many negative details to give... I wish I had hours to write... but my family wasn't wanting to do this - "that will take forever!! what about school tomorrow?!" so forth and so on... but once the reading was over they were like, "Oh wow! That didn't take long at all! *thanks God!*
So, after this we watched the passion of the Christ in order to bring it all home! Not only did they hear the truth, but they were able to see it in action! I prayed and prayed and prayed that God would use this to touch everyone in the room! In the middle of the movie, a lost friend stopped in - and sat down... without saying a word! He watched the last hour of the movie with us and did not budge! *awesome* - so anyways!! In the middle of the movie I told Steven to start praying and meditating upon closing remarks. What can we say to these people to make them realize it's more than a movie! It's life!!! He kind of blew me off... and after the movie was over, it happened just the way I knew it would - everyone got up, started putting their shoes on... getting ready to go! GRRR!! I was so mad! This is not how it was supposed to end! They have no idea what truth this movie holds! They just think it's a movie!! So I looked at Steven, in complete aggravation because he didn't say a word!
In this brief moment God revealed himself! "Wait on me!!" he said! I've been praying for a family member of mine for a while, and while everyone else left the living room, she remained still! Steven and I were able to talk to her, to present the gospel to her in such a perfect way that she GOT IT! She understood! She didn't give her life to Christ or anything, but a seed was SOWN!! God wanted us to speak directly to her! It would not have been effective if everyone else were around! God is so absolutely amazing and his timing is perfect! So, be praying for this family member of mine, that God would stir in her and would open her eyes to the truth!!!
