The Greatness of God
Today I prayed that God would show me His greatness! That He would let me marvel in His glory! God really is the most important being in my life, and I asked that he would not allow me to take that lightly!!
"Out of the depths I cry to you, O LORD;
O Lord, hear my voice.
Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy.
If you, O LORD, kept a record of sins, O Lord, who could stand?
But with you there is forgiveness; therefore you are feared.
I wait for the LORD, my soul waits,
and in his word I put my hope.
My soul waits for the Lord
more than watchmen wait for the morning,
more than watchmen wait for the morning.
O Israel, put your hope in the LORD,
for with the LORD is unfailing loveand with him is full redemption.
He himself will redeem Israel from all their sins."

I read in Luke today - 8:40-56. When Jesus returned from across the lake, Jarius, ruler of the synagogue desperately awaited Him. He needed Jesus to heal his 12 year old daughter, who was dying!! On his way, a woman, who had been bleeding 12 years, reached out and touched the hem of his robe. Because of her faith, and her knowledge of who Jesus was, she was healed!!

I find it completely mind boggling that Jesus healed this woman and the only thing she had to do was touch his CLOTHES!! Not his skin, or his flesh... but his robe! There were so many people around him and as soon as he felt his power leave him - he asked her to come forth! How could you not know who you just healed Jesus? But that's just the thing - he knew, but he wanted her to experience his healing power - to come forth and confess what he did for her!!
Before I even opened my Bible today, I asked that God would show me his greatness... and in this passage he did just that! Not only did He have enough power to cease the blood from flowing from this woman - but only moments later he raised a 12 year old girl from the dead!! This was so unbelievable that the people at Jarius's house LAUGHED when they heard the girl was healed!!
"Would you dare to believe that He is completely able? If he doesn't grant you what you ask in faith, it is never because He lacks the power. I believe it's because He wants to release an all-surpassing power and reveal an even greater glory through another answer!" - Beth Moore
God is *so* completely able! His power is limitless!! Infinite! He can do the unthinkable!
