"God owns everything. I'm his money manager."

This is treasure principle key #1 (from the book "The Treasure Principle" by Randy Alcorn)

"The earth is the Lord's and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it." - Psalm 24:1

"The silver is mine and the gold is mine, declares the Lord Almighty." - Hag. 2:8

"Remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth." - Deut. 8:18

"You are not your own; you were bought at a price." -1 Cor. 6:19-20

I'm reading more from this book by Alcorn and it just blows my mind!! As the title of this post states, the first key principle in this book is that God owns everything!! I am simply his money manager!! He put me in charge of what is his!! Here are some quotes from his book, regarding this principle:

"A steward manages assets for the owners benefit. The steward carries no sense of entitlement to the assets he manages. It's his job to find out what the owner wants done with his assets, then carry out his will."

"Our name is on God's account. We have unrestricted access to it, a privilege that is subject to abuse."

"Our giving is a reflexive response to the grace of God in our lives. It doesn't come out of our altruism or philanthropy - it comes out of the transforming work of Christ in us. This grace is the action; our giving is the reaction. We give because he first gave to us."

  1. Rock on with The Treasure Principle! I just pray that American Christians "get it". Talk about making adifference in the world. I wish more Christians were reading Alcorn. Heck, I wish more Christians were reading your comments about Alcorn.

I blogged about giving today as well. The friend that recommended that book to you must be really sharp!
