My heart always goes where I put God's money

Treasure principle key #2!

"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." - Matthew 6:19-21

In a sense, when Jesus says, "where your treasure is, there your heart will be also," he is saying, "Show me your checkbook and show you where your heart is" What an incredible way of looking at our hearts!! Are our hearts really in heaven? Are we truly storing up for ourselves treasure in heaven?! If you're not sure... just look at your checkbook register or your credit card statement!

Randy Alcorn says:

"He who lays up treasures on earth spends his life backing away from his treasures. To him, death is loss. He who lays up treasures in heaven looks forward to eternity; he's moving daily toward his treasures. To him, death is gain."

So do you view death as a loss? If so, you're heart is probably not in the right place! Heaven is so much more awesome than we could ever imagine! It's where we were designed to reside! This earth is just a tent - a temporary dwelling for us! We are heaven bound! We should live every aspect of our lives in light of eternity! So why store up treasures here?? Why spend tons of money on ourselves, buy things we don't need, big houses, nice cars?? We will lose all of our material possessions one day!! Instead, we should spend our money on things that do matter! Kingdom work! Invest your money in the Lord's work! If we say our heart belongs to God and all that is in us... our money should reflect that!
