Critical Relationship
"I will praise you, O Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonders. I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing praise to your name. " - Ps. 9:1-2
"You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being." - Rev. 4:10
The commentary in my bible, for the passage in Psalms says,
"Praise is expressing to God our appreciation and understanding of his worth. It is saying "thank you" for each aspect of his divine nature. Our inward attitude becomes outward expression. When we praise God, we help ourselves by expanding our awareness of who He is."
God has shown me a lot here lately about who He is! Yeah, God is God - but I've really been thinking about what that means for me as a Christian. He is everything! He is my source of life, my foundation, my refuge in times of need, my saving grace, ...... I could go on and on! I have life because of Him... earthly and eternal!!! God is not to be taken lightly!! My relationship with Him is so absolutely critical!! God is teaching me that without Him, I am nothing - and that He needs to dwell in me and I in Him. Apart from that... what do I have?! My relationship with Him is the most important one that I have and because relationships are a lot of work, I have to be very diligent in the time I spend investing in Him!!
