"Oh God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where there is no water. I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory. Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you." - Ps. 63:1-3
"Hear my cry O God; listen to my prayer. From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I." - Ps. 61:1-2
I prayed the verses above as I did my quiet time today! I so long for God to reveal to me his plan for my life! We did find out that Steven didn't get the job in Morgantown, which was a complete bummer for us, but obviously God has something else in store! Perhaps he is trying to teach us something about ourselves, something that we could not have learned if we moved to WV. I don't know... but we are in the process of trying to figure it out, as we seek the face of God!!
I do know that I need to surround myself with godly people - people who I can invest my time into, people who love me, who can give me godly guidance... so in order to do that I really have to plug in somewhere...since it looks like we're here for a while! My church is very large and most of the people are very artificial... not sure if that makes much sense, but our relationships are just surface deep. I have to find where I fit! I need God to help me find a place! I'm reading a book by Josh Harris, "Stop dating the church." I began reading it months ago, but never really finished, so I've decided to continue my journey through it!
"We can't live our Christian lives on our own. When we're saved from our sin, we become part of something bigger than ourselves - a family, a body, a temple. Through the Church around the world, God is at work glorifying himself and transforming lives. This is the Church from all tribes and tongues and generations that will be presented like a bride to Christ on the last day. This is the Church that will triumph in spite of human failure and demonic attacks. This is the Church that will never end." -Joshua Harris
